Glasgow Airport’s new look: £3.7 million investment brings fresh dining and shopping choices
Glasgow Airport has completed a £3.7 million investment programme that has delivered new restaurants, additional retail units, and upgraded passenger facilities aimed at improving the overall travel experience.
The investment was carried out in partnership with a number of leading retail and hospitality operators. It included the opening of two new restaurants, upgrades to existing retail units on both the airside and landside areas of the terminal, and major improvements to the main departure lounge.
As a result, passengers now have a wider range of dining and shopping options available before departure.
The completed project includes several new and updated outlets:
Sanford’s American Diner has replaced the former Frankie & Benny’s. It offers a family-friendly menu that includes milkshakes, pizza, chicken, waffles, and burgers.
Primo Volo, a new Italian café bar located in the main departure lounge, serves ciabatta sandwiches, pasta dishes, and Italian cocktails, giving passengers a taste of Italy before their flight.
Bird and Signet Bar & Kitchen has been updated with a refreshed appearance and an improved menu.
The popular pancake outlet Stack & Still has been relocated to a more convenient position within the terminal.
New stores from Accessorize and Travelex have opened, expanding the airport’s retail offering.
Boots has also opened a fully refurbished store, providing passengers with improved access to travel essentials.
Craig Norton, Head of Retail Development at Glasgow Airport, said the airport was pleased to have completed the investment programme, which he said highlights its commitment to providing a high-quality passenger experience.
He said the addition of new restaurants and retail units, alongside upgraded facilities, ensures passengers have access to modern amenities throughout their journey at the airport.
The investment forms part of a wider development programme at Glasgow Airport. This also includes ongoing improvements to the main terminal building, airfield infrastructure, and energy efficiency initiatives. Together, these upgrades are intended to ensure the airport is well placed to meet increasing demand from both passengers and airline partners, now and in the future.
