Six new destinations are now on offer to passengers travelling from Luton Airport, following a record Easter period.
Passengers can now fly directly to Palermo and Genoa in Italy, Reus in Spain and Dalaman in Turkey with budget carrier easyJet, as well as Bratislava in Slovakia and Bari in Italy with Wizz Air.
The news comes after the airport’s best ever Easter break, which saw a total of 98,940 passengers flying out of London Luton over the Easter weekend – including 25,000 passengers leaving the airport on Good Friday alone.
The most popular Easter destinations were Amsterdam, Budapest, Barcelona, Geneva and Faro, as passengers flocked to embark on city breaks over the long weekend.
Easter passengers will have been able to enjoy shopping in the airport’s newest retail outlets, which include Hugo Boss, Oliver Bonas, Ted Baker, Fiorelli and Kurt Geiger.
Nick Barton, CEO of LLA, said: “We’re working alongside our airlines to give [passengers] a wider choice of destinations than ever before. But a great holiday starts before you get on a plane, which is why we’re working hard to improve all aspects our passengers’ journeys. This includes making LLA easier to reach and making passengers’ experience while in the airport more convenient and relaxing.”
